2010 was a festive year for the Good Shepherd Sisters of Quebec

The Congregation celebrated several important anniversaries in 2010.

January 10, 2010 – A great gathering at the Generalate to mark the 160th anniversary of foundation! On January 11, 1850, Marie Fitzbach and her companion, Mary Keogh, left the residence of the Sisters of Charity to settle in a poor apartment on Richelieu Street. 160 years ago, those two women laid the basis of a loving presence to women released from jail.

September 1, 2010 – A day of remembrance! In 1885, Marie Fitzbach reached the end of her earthly journey. For 125 years, she has continued to sustain those walking in her footsteps.

October 23, 2010 – A day of thanksgiving! In Lesotho, Southern Africa, the religious daughters of Marie Fitzbach celebrated the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the first Quebeckers. The Good Shepherd Ministry is now blossoming in the hands of some 95 sisters from that region.
